About Us

As Gandhi said India is a nation of the people and villages if want to see and feel true India, go to the villages because the true India is in the villages, so I introduce the one of the villages, which is called Vadgam. It is located on the North of the Gujarat, near the capital city, Palanpur, of Banaskatha; it is also near (almost 60 km far away) from the India’s oldest Mountain Range Arawali Girimala (Ambaji and Mount Abu are in the Arawali Mountain Range). Vadgam is also a Taluka place where almost 108 villages are under its territory. Some old saying is that there were lots of bunion trees at this place so it is called Vadgam (A village of bunion trees).

There are almost 15,000 people are living in Vadgam. Both Hindu and Muslims are living in this place with harmony and brotherhood. The people such as Patels, Rajputs, Brahmins, Shahs, Suthars, Prajapatis, Thakors, etc. are living in vadgam. The people are survived on agriculture and milk production from the domestic animals, and there is also a great development we can say it is almost a revolution in milk production because there are lots of Milk Dairies in this Taluka place. The people are kind-hearted, cultural-oriented, prosperous, very honest, and very helpful to each other. They follow their cultures and they celebrate their festivals.

There are also 4-5 temples in Vadgam, but the Radha-Krishna Temple is prime focus of this place where we have recently celebrated Village Fair on Janamasthami (a birth celebration of Lord Krishna). The sculpture of this temple is really amazing. After seeing the Krishna, people feel as they reach at an eternal spiritual place. There are also other temples like Shiva temple, Hanuman Temple, Gayatridevi Temple, and Rama temple. The Brhmani Devi’s Temple is one of the oldest temples of this place. There are almost 4-5 high schools and 1 college in Vadgam.

There are also a few persons who have given a contribution for the development of this place like Mr. S. P. Shah, a diamond merchant; Late Galbabhai M.Patel a Social Leader,Late Solanki Gulabsinh, former Sarpanch of Vadgam; Mr. Mafatlal Kalidas Joshi, teacher who has given a lifelong service for this place; Patel Laxmanbhai, formal congress leader; P.C. Solanki, delegate of Vadgam; such persons did a noble task for the progress and development of the Vadgam, which is really a grateful deed.

Now, we have a little bit development of shopping center, recently developed a new market yard and PHC. There are some drawbacks such as we do not have a clean water supply, bus stand, education, health. Many social trusts are doing noble work for the development of such challenges, but we require government support for this progress.
